Composer, musician, poet, writer, and academic researcher. He studied musical composition in Moscow under Konstantin K. Batashov, in Berlin under Paul Hans Dittrich, and attended master classes with Alfred Schnittke, György Kurtág, György Ligeti, and Karlheinz Stockhausen. He also studied orchestral conducting with Vladimir Fedoseyev and Daniel Barenboim. He has performed in most of the world’s major theaters and opera houses. He has received more than 50 international and local awards and creative grants in musical composition and literary writing. He has published several books of poetry, short stories, and academic research studies. In 2013, he founded the Gibran Academy of Music in Nazareth, which he continues to direct to this day.
